Continence Assessment & Advice

There are different types & causes of incontinence. An assessment completed by a continence nurse can help people to establish a plan to meet their individual needs. Remember that incontinence is not an inevitable part of ageing or disability. Effective treatments are available to help improve, manage or cure incontinence problems.

Toilet Training Advice

It’s a real milestone in your child’s development when your child learns to use the toilet. Toilet training can be a challenging time for some parents and children. Developing this skill in a supportive and positive environment promotes positive self-esteem and is an important aspect of the development of your child’s self-help skills.

TAC Assessments & Reports

The Community Continence Prescription form is used by community-based continence nurses to request continence equipment for TAC clients. Completion of the form is required when a major review of the client’s continence equipment requirements is conducted ( usually every two years ) and/or when there has been a change to the client’s current continence regime.

Department of Veteran Affairs Assessments

DVA entitled veteran or war window(er), are eligible to support and provision of continence aids and equipment. Continence Regional Vic can undertake the required assessments to support the application for Continence aids and equipment.

Aged Care Continence Assessments & Advice

Safe and effective continence assessment and care is an essential part of helping people maintain their dignity, independence and wellbeing. Elderly people living at home can access continence advice and support from Continence Regional Vic nurses to maintain independence and manage their continence concerns.

Continence Challenges For People With Disabilities

Learning to use the toilet is an important developmental skill for all children. For some children and young people with a development disability, there are often additional challenges, and toilet training can become a very long and frustrating process. We can help with these challenges.

State Wide Equipment Program (SWEP) Funding

The State-wide Equipment Program (SWEP) provides a subsidy towards the cost of Continence Aids. This is to assist consumers to improve independence in their home in their home, assist in community participation and support families and carers in their role. Continence Regional Vic have qualified nurses that can complete the assessment and apply for assistance through this scheme.

Continence Aids Payment (CAPS) funding supports

The Continence Aids Payment Scheme (CAPS) is an Australian Government scheme that provides a payment to assist eligible people who have permanent and severe incontinence to meet some of the cost of their continence products. CRV can support you with this.

Nocturnal Enuresis Management With Children

Nocturnal Enuresis means wetting the bed. The right advice and support can help people who have this problem. Bed wetting can be cured. It is always worth seeking help even if you feel you have already tried everything. Continence Regional Vic have the expertise in this area.

Education and Training Sessions for Small Groups

Continence Regional Vic nurses are available to speak to small groups, carers and families about bladder, bowel and other continence care needs. Advice regarding catheter care, bowel care as well as toilet training can be provided. Continence Regional Vic’s professionally qualified staff can tailor the education and training to meet specific needs.

Monica Harrop, the director of Continence Regional VIC, has 47 years of invaluable experience in the health industry, with a remarkable 17 years dedicated specifically to the field of continence nursing. Her extensive expertise and unwavering commitment to improving the quality of life for individuals facing continence challenges have positioned her as a trusted leader in the sector.

Monica’s profound understanding of the complexities surrounding continence care, coupled with her compassionate approach, ensures that Continence Regional VIC remains at the forefront of providing exemplary services and support to its clients.

We are based in Geelong but offering services across Regional Victoria stretching from Geelong to Bendigo, Ballarat and Shepparton. The service will deliver safe and quality support services to individuals and their carers & families with disabilities.

We offer services to clients that are supported under NDIS, TAC and Aged Care as well as clients who choose our service to support them with their own individual continence challenges that are not funded through a government scheme.

Our aim is to bring courteous home and care support to our clients who struggle day-to-day basis managing bladder and bowel incontinence, toilet training challenges and other challenges related to continence management.

We are fully qualified and well experienced Registered Continence Nurse consultants with a wealth of experience in this field. Currently we have three consultants working with the service ensuring demand is met in a timley manner.We are committed to removing DIS from DISABILITY to make you ABLE to do anything you want.
